Ombudsman says Russia not to arrest London list businessmen

MOSCOW, Mar 19 (PRIME) -- The Prosecutor General’s office sees no barriers for the return of the businessmen hiding from prosecution in London and has no plans to arrest them, Russian business ombudsman Boris Titov said on Tuesday

“The answer by the Prosecutor General’s office states that a measure of detention has not been ordered and the international wanted list does not include businessmen from St. Petersburg Vladimir Artyushin and Roman Starodubets, Andrei Markov from Perm, Yulia Makurina from Moscow and Yury Pogiba from Rostov-on-Don. The crimes they are accused of do not envisage arrest in case of voluntary appearance,” Titov said.

Titov added that two other businessmen, Alexei Latypov and Yury Glotser will not be arrested because an order for Latypov was cancelled and Glotser is not a suspect or convict in a criminal case.

Titov, who earlier announced an intention to run for president in March 2018, said that Russia should create conditions for repatriation of capital of Russian businessmen, to cease pressure on business and create comfortable bank rates, taxes and tariffs.
